The word Kermesse may mean festival or fair. I decided to use it for this blog, since here I would present a festival of crafts and arts done by myself... and 365 refers to the number of days in a year. The idea started churning in my mind when I came across http://makesomething365.blogspot.com/. The main concept of my blog is to show a piece of art or some craft on a daily basis for 365 days. Some of them I’m well familiar with, while others are completely new. Hope you’ll enjoy this year long journey and feel free to leave any comments.

Day 54 Jewellery set Black & Gold

Yesterday evening Ihad dinner with some of my work colleagues who also happen to be my friends.

I found this looonnnnggggg necklace in my jewellery box and instead of reattaching I thought of making a set out of it... minus the ring!

Day 53 Pendant

This was a very quick attempt an I'm not that happy with the end product. The fun of making something yourself is that at most times you can disassemble and recreate!

Day 52 Duck on the hat

Been ultra busy but still made something every day; even though I didn't post... here are all 3 posts for you to enjoy & if you feel like it, comment :-)

This was done using acrylic paint. It is a great medium since it can be used on practically anything including glass, ceramic, wood, metal, canvas and plastic. The effect is permanent.

Day 51 Bucket or sun hat

The hat gave me some trouble while sewing it. It was a larger pattern than I expected or needed so I had to do plenty of alterations... at least you can correct larger garments!

Whatsmore the sewing machine wouldn't work, but a quick check with wires and plugs and it was OK. The funniest part was convincing myself that my dear son would wear the hat without objection. Instead we made a game out of it, me putting it on, he removing it after 2 seconds flat :-)

So I added some elastic covered by fabric; and on it stood!

Take care & thanks for your support x

Day 50 Bucket or sun hat pattern cut-out

I wanted to do a hat for my little one, and searching the internet gives great results :-)
This is the pattern cut-out. I didn't know I liked sewing so much. It's like creating something out-of nearly nothing and the fact that I made it gives me joy.
I have to get better at it and try to be more patient as sometimes I tend to rush through it and the results aren't that satisfactory!

See ya & have a lovely week x

Day 49 Easter Egg Card

A nice sunny and preety warm day... rather be out enjoying the weather. So here's a quick card you can do for Easter.

You will need:
An oval aperture card
Ribbon
Scissors
Glue
Tweezers (though not essential, very helpful)
Other embellishments - flowers, butterflies, etc.

Apply some glue all around the inner aperture and attach the ribbons. You can have some scrap ribbon you can use here. Apply them in a random manner from left to right and the other way round to produce a lattice effect.

Apply some more glue on the card side to be folded over the aperture. Press gently and turn the card right side. Continue to decorate as you wish :-)

Regards and hugs to all x

Finally here it is... it is a funny looking teddy bear but kiddo just loved it - so that's what counts.
